Ministers and Staff
Rev. Jeff Miner, Senior Pastor
Pastor Jeff came to LifeJourney Church on January 4,1997. This is his first pastorate.
Prior to completing his training and ordination, he practiced law for 13 years, serving as Deputy Chief Counsel for Legislative Affairs at a federal banking agency in Washington, D.C. He is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D., 1983) and Bob Jones University (B.A., 1980). He prepared for the clergy in our denomination’s Samaritan Clergy Training Program.
Jeff lives with his spouse of twenty-one years, David Zier. Jeff was born and raised in Indianapolis, and has made a long-term commitment to LifeJourney Church.
Melody Merida, Minister of Congregational Care
Melody joined LifeJourney Church in September, 2007 as the Minister of Congregational Care. Before serving in this capacity, she was actively involved in LifeJourney Church’s SoulShift and Oasis programs as well as serving on the Missions Board.
She grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, and attended Liberty University. Her professional endeavors have included managing a childcare facility and leading the warranty program for a local home builder.
Melody lives with her spouse, Kristen. They have one son.
Vivian Wyatt, Minister of Care and Business Administration
Vivian joined LifeJourney Church in June 2011 as Minister of Care and Business Administration. Prior to this, she served with us as a clergy intern for nine months in 2009.
She studied Accounting at Virginia State University (BS 1978), Patient Counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University (MS 2010) and Pastoral Care and Counseling at the Earlham School of Religion (M.Div. 2011). She also completed a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, a Level One Trauma Center, in August 2010.
Vivian was raised Baptist in a small church in Virginia, became Non-denominational later in life and was seeking a church that welcomed diversity when she came to us. Believing that God loves every one as if there were only one of us to love, it was the diversity — ”All are welcome here” — that made LifeJourney a place Vivian could call home.
While having had a full, rich life, especially as Mom and Nana, Vivian feels, like Job, that God has blessed these current days even more than the beginning.
