Bearing With One Another – Crosswalk the Devotional – May 6

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 13-14

Last Sunday, I (Pastor David) preached at River of Hope MCC in Paducah, Kentucky. The topic was living in Christian Community. The toughest part is living with each other and our foibles. We are not always going to get along perfectly. We can be and should be a source of encouragement and accountability for each other.

One of the things I emphasized was the the early church had conflicts between people, and so will we. There is no such thing as the perfect church. But how we handle it, and how are hearts are maturing in Christ speak loudly to everything working for the good.

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another… (Col 3: 13). Sometimes I think the biggest stumbling block to living the Christian life exists in our interactions with other Christians.
