Let’s All Quit!

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Is it time for you to quit smoking? If so, then the Smoking Cessation Support Group may be the right fit for you.

We’ll begin this journey on Monday, June 7  at 7:00 pm, and together we will support each other as we seek to eliminate smoking from our lives. We’ll discover strategies, plans, and tips to help in the quitting process, share the challenges we face when we quit, and offer encouragement to stay the course together.

If you are interested in being a part of the support group, please contact Melody Merida. Together we can do this!

Jesus MCC Singles News

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

For several years, Jesus MCC’s Singles Ministry has had a Yahoo! group that helps keep us in touch. With the advance of technology, we are now making the shift to Facebook. Check out our new Singles Facebook page and become a fan. The Yahoo! group has been discontinued.

Also new: a Steering Committee for the Singles Ministry. For a long time, the Ministry has been led by one person, Les Prout, who is now taking a much-needed break. We are deeply grateful for his leadership. Now it’s time for others of us to step forward.

Those who serve on the Steering Committee will be responsible for planning monthly dinners or social outings that keep MCC Singles in fellowship. The Committee will also actively manage the Facebook page and be empowered to develop additional sources of support for our singles. If you would like to know more about the Steering Committee, please contact staff liaison, Melody Merida.

New Positively + Oasis

Friday, November 14th, 2008

“If one member suffers, all suffer together with them; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with them.” 1 Corinthians 12:26

Are you affected by HIV/AIDS? Are you looking for ways to find support and grow spiritually? Welcome to the Positively + Oasis! Please plan to attend with a heart attuned to learning what plans God has for your future! We will look at ways to grow and praise God.

We will begin meeting the first week in December on Wednesday evenings at the Church. The Group is open to anyone who is affected by HIV/AIDS. For the first few meetings, we will get acquainted, share stories, and decide together how the Group will function.

Then we will study The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, with an emphasis on how those affected by HIV can look forward and determine God’s purpose for their lives. If you would like to attend or want more information, please contact Oasis leader Larry Gist via the church office. Confidentiality will be respected in the Positively + Oasis.
