Program Costs
Because our program represents a supplement to the traditional academic requirements for pastoral training, we have gone to great lengths to keep cost to a minimum. The last thing we want is to add to your student debt!
The tuition cost of our program is completely covered by scholarship for all candidates regardless of financial status. This also includes the cost of books we require and the discipleship courses we require.
We are able to provide no-cost housing for a limited number of candidates during their full two-year course of study with us. Candidates are responsible for their other routine living expenses, such as food and transportation, and for any academic coursework they need to complete at seminary or at a Christian university.
Candidates who are admitted to the LifeJourney program are required to attend a three-day retreat sponsored by our denomination’s Office of Formation and Leadership Development. Candidates are responsible for the expense of this retreat, which includes plane fare and a retreat fee that usually runs about $500 (inclusive of room and board).
As a last step in our admissions screening process, applicants who qualify for admission are required to take a standard battery of psychological tests prescribed by MCC (and many denominations). These tests are at the candidate’s expense and usually cost about $2,000. Candidates to our program are not required to take these tests until we have already determined they are otherwise cleared for admission.
We are working hard to develop scholarship funds to help with the cost of the MCC retreat and psychological testing. When you dialogue with us, feel free to ask whether scholarship funds are available.
For candidates who need to work full- or part-time during our program, we will help you find employment using our congregational network.
