It always seems to happen — in our spiritual lives, in our relationships, and everywhere else. Just when we get a good sense of momentum, something happens, and we end up cycling right back to where we started.

Why does it work that way? Our ancestors in the faith experienced the same thing, and in this sermon we will try to learn from their experience.
