We want to belong, to be loved, to fit in. But we live in a conditional world: “You will belong if. . . .” Behind every “if” is an expectation. Our greatest fear is that we will fail to meet those expectations and be cast out. This week we’ll look at a dramatic Gospel story where a woman faced exactly that situation. We’ll see how Jesus responded and, in the process, learn a critical life lesson about failure and expectations.
