Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Psalms 18:6 "In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears."
Do you ever have mood swings? One minute life is good and peaceful, then something happens and knocks you out of your happy place.
We get distracted. We try to go into prayer with God. Our minds wander. Our bodies get squirmy. Ugh! STOP!
Say this verse very slowly, 5 times. “Be still and know that I am God.” Take a silent pause after each time you speak it. Repeat. Silence…
Put on a joyful song if music helps in your quiet time. Then read a devotional. First read the focus Bible verse. Take a deep breath. Listen. Then read the devotional. Take a deep breath. Ask God to help sort
out the stuff going on. Ask God to help you get into that peaceful place. Listen.
Your way of doing this may be very different. There is not one way to spend quality time with God. This is just a suggestion.
We are told in today’s scripture verses that prayer is our way to gain the peace of God. So it makes sense that the more time we spend with God, the more peace we will have, and those mood swings will lessen thwie impact.
