Matthew 19:21 Jesus said to (the rich young ruler) “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Perfection!
Does God call us to be Stepford Children? Do you know what the means?
The Greek word 'teleios' is translated as perfect in the verse above. This Greek word means "growth to maturity." So instead of "perfection," hear Jesus saying that we are to "grow to spiritual maturity." We are not there yet. But we are on our way.
