Every single Sunday, Christians across the globe share in Holy Communion. As the elements are consecrated, the words of Jesus are repeated, “Do this in remembrance of me.”

But why? We can spend a lifetime in church without anybody ever explaining the most basic stuff. What’s the purpose of Communion? What’s supposed to happen when I partake? What’s the big deal?
