Today’s scripture: Psalm 93 (NRSV) (The Message) (KJV) What might God be saying to me?
My thoughts (David Zier):
Reading this psalm reminded me of the trips Jeff and I would take to Colorado when his family lived there. Driving through the mountains, hiking up a steep mountain with rocky terrain away from the paths and trails, and just sitting on a mountain top looking around the Colorado Rockies always brought me to a place where I could see, recognize, feel, and give praise and thanks for all God is. The image below only captures a still photo, but it reminds me of some of that majesty we would experience on those trips. As you look at the picture, think about the ways you experience God’s majesty. What would your picture look like?
Prayer for the day: Lord, allow my heart to always be open to your majesty, to your majestic ways.
We encourage you to include a time of prayer with this reading. If you need a place to get started, consider the suggestions on the How to Pray page.
