Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12
This verse implies something about Joy. If we are faithful in our prayer, and spend time with God, we will be in touch with ourselves and God enough to gain patience no matter what happens. And that will help us attain Joy. This doesn't mean that the the bad stuff won't happen. But it helps us grow and be better equipped when they do happen.
