Wanting God’s Will in Our Way

“Jesus walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, ‘Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.’” Luke 22:41-42

How often do we pray for "God's will be done", but we really mean our own? This thing or outcome we have in our mind is what we want to happen… God your will, I mean my will… I mean our will… be done. Oops!

Bad things happen to good people. The wrong things happen that we want. My want or my way somehow got detoured. So we conclude that God is not listening. Is that really what is happening?
