Today’s scripture: Hosea 13:8 (NRSV) (The Message) (KJV) What might God be saying to me?
My thoughts (Tyler Connoley):
In today’s Scripture, God says, “I will fall upon them like a mother bear robbed of her cubs.” Those may not sound like comforting words, but this is actually one of my go-to Scriptures when I’m in need of comfort.
Whenever I’m in a situation that seems dangerous, whenever I need protection from people or bad thoughts or anything that troubles me, whenever I need to be reminded that I serve a mighty God, I say a prayer to Mother Bear God. I ask God to protect me as a mother bear protects her cubs, and I feel better.
Thought for the day: Jesus called God our Father in Heaven. Hosea likened God to a mother bear. The Apostle Paul said, “If God is for us, who can be against us.” When you’re frightened, you can rest in the protective embrace of Mother Bear God.
