Te Adoro

There’s a famous line in the musical West Side Story where Maria says to her boyfriend, “Te adoro, Anton.”
“Te adoro” is Spanish for, “I adore you.” “Adoration” is an over-the-top… More word that means “a very strong love or worship for someone.”
We’re all familiar with the Christmas Carol, “O Come Let Us Adore Him.” The lyrics go like this:
O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye, o come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord
The words of the carol invite us to ask ourselves, “Do I adore Him? And if so, why?”
