How do I feel about my spiritual life right now and why do I feel that way?
2018 was probably my most emotional year, with my Mom passing, my Dad’s brain tumor, Jeff’s Mom passing, losing two pets, especially our cat Miss Girl. I had other family members die and get sick this last year that added to the emotional roller coaster ride. It was a tough year. My spiritual life took a ride on that emotional roller coaster. Thank goodness smart phones have calendars. I put God and prayer time on my calendar frequently. Even if I silence the alarm, there is a nudge or a reminder there that helps. I also had my book UNSHAKEABLE, and my NRSV Bible and My Message Bible. The Message Bible always wakes me up due to the modern nuance Eugene Peterson injects into the text with the language of today. For 2019, I will be shifting books from Unshakeable to Prayer Seeds. I will share occasionally on Facebook as I always have. My hope for 2019 is that I will be a little more even keel, or shall I say, less of an emotional roller coaster ride as life events occur. I will consider this as I pull together my Rhythm of Life Plan for 2019.
