Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we must pay greater attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.
This verse is about paying attention to what Jesus says, even more so than the prophets or angels, because it is God with us. Today we have the Holy Spirit, so Jesus is still with us. So, how do we pay attention? How and when do we hear from God? We do have the words in the Bible. But God did not stop speaking to us 2000 years ago.
I can look back on a situation and recognize it was God speaking to me through an event, through others, directly to me, or I can just sense God’s presence and God speaking to me in the moment, even if I did not recognize it at the time it occurred. How do we recognize God’s voice in our day to day life? Do we expect to hear it, feel it, or sense it?
