“Let us love, because God loved us first” (1 John 4:19).
Love is one of the hardest things we do. If it wasn't so hard, the world would be in a different place, and we would all recognize love more easily. Maybe this is part of the problem?
How many of us just "know" (mental assent) that God loves us, but not sure if we truly feel it? Maybe that would help us to love even better?
