Psalm 139:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
In Psalm 139 tells us that God made all of the delicate and intricate parts of who we are. We are knitted together in our Mother's womb. The Hebrew word translated "fearfully" is 'yare'. This word 'yare' means "to be afraid, stand in awe, fear." This implies honor and reverence. There is a respectfulness here. To be fearfully made means we are made "awesomely!" Stand in "awe." We hear a word and we think we know what it is supposed to mean. We dig a little more, and the truth is revealed.
Do you doubt you were "awesomely" made by God? It is easy to compare ourselves to others, to their successes, to their gifts, and to their achievements, and that can get us to "stinkin' thinking" about ourselves. Let's remember, we are all "awesome."
