The Protection That God’s Love Provides

Today’s scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NRSV) (The Message) (KJV) What might God be saying to me?

My thoughts (Charlotte Egler):

There are signs of God’s presence all around me. From the bird calls, to the grass and garden growing, to the joy of seeing Jovi, our husky, run, and seeing our wonderful son Drew’s handsome face as he bangs the gong and bass drum at band camp. Jovi loves catching insects, even the flying ones. She is such a funny girl and helps me laugh daily. Yesterday, I met with Dr. Bhatia, oncologist, and Dr. Graybill, radiologist. They are not going to do radiation because I don’t have any pain. Thank you, Lord, for my life and health and all the wonderful miracles with which you have surrounded me. I love You and thank You for Your presence in my life.

Thought for the day: When life seems to be a swirl of hectic chaos, let me be able to quiet myself so I can come to my center to reconnect with You. The hope of salvation is protecting me like nothing else. When I breath in faith and love, You strengthen me.
