Morning Reflection

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10

It is so easy for someone to say, “Do not fear, God is with you.” The words just don’t cut it. Worry, anxiety, fear… they can overwhelm us with a thick shadow of darkness, controlling our every move and decision. How can we get beyond just the words?

First of all, reality tells us that so much of what we spend our time worrying about never happens. We choose to live in the “what ifs.” And second, what are we doing to know and feel God’s presence with us? What are we doing to live in God’s reality, and not our perceived reality created from fear? How are we steeping our life in God, in God’s reality, so that the fear fades away?
