Hebrews 12:14-15 (The Message) Work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God. Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity.
Colossians 3:13-14 (The Message) So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.
We live at a time where winning, being right, coming in first, and demeaning others seems to win out over love. Sometimes we tend to point our fingers at others. Where in our own lives does this play out?
I think we tend to think of violence as physical, but what about all the violence our words and actions play out, even when there is no physical harm? What happens to that wardrobe that God picked out for us?
