Hope for the Battle-Weary – Encouragement for Today – May 16, 2019

When we face battles in life, they are not always the easiest things to over come. But we can have a tendency to just move to the side, walk backwards, or try to jump over the chaos in hopes that ignoring it means it goes away. And then we realize, "Nope!"

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20

People hurt us, in all kinds of relationships. And I mean all kinds. If it is abusive, we may need to walk away, never look back, and heal. This is not the topic here.

There is hard work to do in order to repair any kind of relationship (spousal, dating, friend, family, community, etc.) It seems that we are in a time where culture has taught us that things and people are more disposable, –cars, homes, stuff, people… throw it away and change it!

What happened to working things out? What happened to trying to work on ourselves to help us figure out things that are happening within us?

No matter what obstacle is in front of us, even if it is something else entirely, are we willing to do that hard work knowing God is there right beside us?
