Save The Date:
Prayer Retreat at St. Meinrad Archabby Monastery Ferdinand, Indiana April 24-26, 2020 with Pastor David.

Topic: Listening For God’s Gentle Whisper: An Invitation to Christian Mindfulness

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6, excerpts from verses 25-34, "…do not worry… is not life more than possessions and things… look at the birds in the air… see how the flowers of the field grow… seek God first… do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…" Throughout the Gospels, Jesus spent many a night on a mountain praying, which means he did did it more often than what we read in the short stories in the Bible.

Jesus is asking us to be mindful. Mindfulness, the practice of focused attention in the present moment, can help us tune into God and ourselves with more awareness. It has been shown that being mindful improves our physical and mental health, helps reduce stress, and allows us to be more compassionate, non-judgmental, and open-minded. It will also help us tune into God's voice more efficiently. Jesus is the ultimate healer, and knows what is best for us holistically. It’s a freakin’ awesome tool for helping us live life to it’s fullest potential! Just ask Jesus!
