The intro that published this morning was part of the intro for one last week. This is the correct intro:
Life gets busy. When it does, it can get hard to find space and time for God. How can we gain some quiet time with so much noise?
Part of the issue is being able to set ourselves aside from what is going on in the day, and spend some time in the presence of Christ. How can we do that?
Ancient Christians did something called a breath prayer that would help them usher in the awareness of God's presence. Brother Lawrence, a 13th century monk, did not like doing kitchen duty, so he would use breath prayers to be in the presence of Christina as he did his chores, passing the time quickly and using it to spend time with God. The Jesus Prayer was one of the first breath prayers used – "Jesus, Savior, Son of God, have mercy on me."
A word or phrase that we choose to meditate on can get to the place where it is written on our hearts. Over time it become deeply ingrained within us.
