When God Whispers

We often want God to speak to us in spectacular ways.  After all, if God is great, shouldn’t we expect God to speak in grandiose ways?  This week we’ll study a passage of Scripture that challenges our assumptions, suggesting a whole new counter-intuitive way of listening to God.  If you want to hear God’s voice more clearly in your life, join uson Sunday, as we tackle another story in ‘The Life & Times of Elijah and Elisha.’

Finding Myself

It’s so easy to get preoccupied with the details of life, lose sight of the big picture, and flounder.  Most people are living ‘little’ lives, whereas God created us to live with a powerful sense of transcendent purpose.  This week we’ll conclude our eight-week march through the Bible by looking at a story that highlights our reason for being.  Join us this Sunday to reset your compass!

Let There Be Light!

Our Old Testament contains thousands of pages of spiritual truth spoken by God through many different prophets and teachers.  You’d think that might be enough.  Yet somehow it wasn’t.  In fact, what was missing was so vital, God decided to come to us directly in the form of Jesus.  Why?  That’s what we’ll explore this Sunday, as we continue our march through the Bible in eight weeks.

Faith and Politics

We hear lots of arguments on TV – each side accusing the other of bringing us to ruin.  People of faith stand on both sides.  But where does God stand?  Should our faith affect our politics?  If so, how?  This Sunday we’ll look at the words of the prophets for guidance, as we continue our 8-week march through the Bible.

Two Roads

This week we’ll continue our eight-week march through eight great eras of biblical history.  This week we’ll compare and contrast two famous kings of Israel who illustrate two radically different philosophies of life – one popular, one rare.  We’ll ask how much of ourselves we see in these two kings – and what we can learn from them.

Life

This week we’ll look at a Bible story that manages to capture the essence of life – in all its hope, disappointment, malaise, anger, doubt, and yearning – and shows us how an ordinary life can become extraordinary.  Join us to discover the missing piece – the catalyst that allows us to live into our God-given potential.
