The Circle of Life

Through the monumental events of Easter, God intended to teach us a vital lesson that is applicable to every loss we will ever experience in life.  Are you clear on that lesson?  Are you living it?  Join us Sunday to be reminded, refreshed, and renewed!

Stressed To The Breaking Point

This week we’ll continue our mini-series on the last days of Jesus leading up to Easter.  We’ll focus on how Jesus reacted to the incredible stress of the cross, drawing powerful lessons for how we should respond to situations of great stress.

Tried & Tested

This week we begin a mini-series of sermons based on the last days of Jesus, leading up to Easter.  This Sunday we’ll study Jesus’ trial, focusing on the stress he was under at his trial and how he reacted, drawing powerful lessons for how we should handle ourselves when we face situations of great stress.

How Much Grace Do I Have To Show?

It’s the age old question.  Yes, God wants me to be gracious, but surely there are limits?  Am I allowed to defend myself?  When does grace become “enabling”?  In our relationships with children, spouses, friends, and coworkers, how do we choose between grace and accountability?  These are some of the practical questions we’ll explore this Sunday, as we wrap up our sermon series on grace.

A New Way of Seeing Myself

Suppose you sit down with a new life coach for the first time to get better acquainted.  After a little introductory chitchat, your new coach asks you a big, open-ended question: “How do you feel about yourself – and why?”  What’s the first thing that flashes into your head?  This week we’ll resume our sermon series on grace by talking about that question – and how the answer you give will dramatically affect yourself and the people around you.  Our goal will be to learn to see ourselves as God does.

Living Into Our Destiny

This Sunday will be our annual “State of the Church” sermon where we celebrate what God has been doing through us and anticipate the great things that still lay before us.  If you’re a regular part of LifeJourney, join us to celebrate the positive difference your participation is making.  If you’re new to LifeJourney, this will be a great Sunday to hear more of what our church is all about.  Don’t miss the celebration!

Grace vs. Hell

We serve a God of grace.  So what should a thinking Christian do with the concept of Hell?  This Sunday we’ll tackle that “hot” issue – pun intended.  If you’ve ever been troubled about the concept of Hell, you won’t want to miss this sermon.  We will dig deep into the Scriptures to explore three different ways Christians have responded to the concept of hell.  Prepare to be surprised!

Life’s Challenges

Today we take a quick break from “The Heart of God” series and learn about four young Israelites…and “vegetables.”  The message is a unique twist on the norm — forum style — with three Pastors and the congregation digging deep into the scripture, Daniel 1:1-21.

Out, Damn Spot!

Those famous words – from Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth – remind us of the power of guilt and how often we get stuck there, unable to internalize God’s grace.  This week, as we continue our sermon series on grace, we’ll explore how to move beyond guilt to a place of genuine grace.

Thou Shalt Not!

From the time we were kids, we’ve been hearing about The Commandments – all kinds of religious rules we’re supposed to keep.  Do this, don’t do that!  And that’s how most religious people live.  Yet the Bible says that there is a better way to live a spiritual life – that “Christ is the end of the commandments” (Rm. 10:4).  So what role, if any, should religious rules play in our lives?  On Sunday we’ll explore that question.  This is not a dry theological question; it goes to the heart of how we think and live and feel about ourselves and God.  Find your freedom in Christ!

Our Worst Fear

We want to belong, to be loved, to fit in.  But we live in a conditional world: “You will belong if. . . .”  Behind every “if” is an expectation.  Our greatest fear is that we will fail to meet those expectations and be cast out.  This week we’ll look at a dramatic Gospel story where a woman faced exactly that situation.  We’ll see how Jesus responded and, in the process, learn a critical life lesson about failure and expectations.

The Danger of Religion

In one of his famous statements, Jesus worried aloud that many of the people of his day were “twice as bad” after they got religion than before.  Why is that?  What are the risks of being a “good religious person”?  Those are some of the questions we’ll explore this week as we continue our sermon series on grace.

The Heart of God

It’s coming!  It starts this week!  A brand new sermon series that will explore the single most important concept in Christianity.   This sermon series has the potential to change the way you see yourself, God, and life forever.  It may be the most important series you’ll ever hear.  Join us Sunday as we get started.
