Today’s scripture: Esther 4:10-17 (ESV-text and audio) (KJV) (The Message) What might God be saying to me?

Not long ago Jim Carey starred in a movie called Yes Man. In this movie Jim played a man who changed his life from saying “no” all the time to a man who said “yes” to everything. In doing so opened himself up to a plethora of different, new, and exciting (and borderline deadly) opportunities. This turned him from a “Dull Dan” to an “Adventuresome Adam”.
Now, I don’t recommend you start saying yes to everything that crosses your decision plate. However, what I do encourage is that you give more thought to experiencing life rather than playing it safe. I encourage you to think more about how you can make a difference rather than make a mistake.
In our story today Queen Esther said “Yes” to an opportunity that might cost her her life, yet she did it with this remarkable attitude: “If I perish, I perish.” In doing so she saved her people from annihilation at the hand of the devilish Haman. I don’t know if the next opportunity that comes your way will be such a life and death situation, but you’ll find more excitement in your living if you just say,”Yes.”
