Today’s scripture: Hebrews 10:23; Philippians 1:6 (ESV-text and audio) (KJV) (The Message) What might God be saying to me?

If I had written the New Testament, I would have put these two verses together. They’re my favorite verses in all the Bible. They’re really powerful individually, but together they form a strong tower for the modern believer.
I got saved when I was 15 years old and I felt like there was so much wrong with me. I didn’t understand myself, my feelings and others around me. I was a mess!
So when I gave my life to Christ I laid all my issues out there before Him, trusting that whatever needed fixing, God had the power, desire and know-how to get it done.
Even after making that commitment, there have been times in my walk with the Lord that I have felt more confused, frustrated, and in need of a savior than ever and these scriptures come to mind. It’s like God is saying to me, “Just hold on, I started this work in you, I will finish this work in you, I am faithful and I WILL do it for you.”
These verses assure me that God is at work “on the case” of every situation and circumstance in my life. God is working it out, especially in the times when I feel the least certain. What is most reassuring is that God picked me, God has a purpose for me, and God will ensure that the good in my life comes to pass.
I will become what God has called me to be. I will have the grace to do what God has asked of me and I will be able to ensure that God gets all the glory out of my life. Most importantly, I rejoice in the fact that God will finish the work (my salvation/sanctification) just before Jesus Christ comes to get me so I am made to order. Hallelujah!
I only have one requirement, and that is to hold fast to my trust in God’s ability, promise, and character. Since God can’t fail, it’s only victory for me! Praise the Lord!
This is my anchor. I can hold on to God, trusting that God will bring all the good in my life to pass and that makes the journey worthwhile.
