Decisions, Decisions

Today’s scripture: Isaiah 5:1-7 (NRSV) (The Message) (KJV) What might God be saying to me?

My thoughts (James Hendrix):

“You may take a few animal crackers or cheese crackers,” Mrs. Kates said to her four-year-old Sunday school students. As she went from child to child, each one told her his or her choice. When Mrs. Kates reached Jason, his eyes grew large as he looked from box to box and struggled to decide between the two. “That’s all right,” Mrs. Kates said. “I will give you a little of both.”

Decisions are an important part of life. Whether large or small, we face them each day. One of the most important decisions we will ever make is whether or not to follow God. Today, we can decide to trust God and accept the Lord’s gift of salvation. God will not force our decision, but the Lord desires that we commit our lives to serving God. When we commit our lives to God and place our trust in God, we will be transformed so that we become more like God and bear good fruit for the kingdom of God.

Thought for the day: May my first decision be to follow God.
