LifeJourney Church World Missions Day was yesterday. We are asking for prayer each day this week to support one of our Global Missions activities in the world. Today, this is ChildFund International.
When asked who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, Jesus calls a child to him. Then he proceeds to say that children are the greatest — we must all become like children.
There are children all over the world who do not know they are the greatest. There are children who are hungry, not getting educated, and not getting health care. How much of a chance do they have when they start out life with these deficits? Will they know they are the greatest?
LifeJourney church has been working with ChildFund International for nearly fifteen years supporting children all over the world, providing education, health care and necessities to children in need all over the world. ChildFund exists to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to improve their lives and the opportunity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change in their communities. “(ChildFund) works with families and communities to support children at each stage of their development, promoting children’s well-being, knowledge and skills so that they may participate in society to their fullest potential.”
We are participating in valuing, protecting and advancing the worth and rights of children. Individuals in our congregation are sponsoring one of the 35 children we sponsor collectively as LifeJourney Church all over the world at a cost of $24 per month for each child. When children graduate or sponsors are no longer available, new sponsors are needed. Even if you are not sponsoring one of the 34, you can help by praying for the children that we sponsor and that our efforts are making a positive difference in their lives, and that it helps us to want to do even more.
Join us today in collective prayer for the Children sponsored through ChildFund International.
Prayer for the day: God, help us to make a real difference in the lives of others, especially the lives of Children. Bless all the work that is done through ChildFund International, and help our work with these Children give these vulnerable ones a real chance at a good life that makes a true difference in all of our lives. Amen
